VACTE Conference Materials and Upcoming Deadlines

We truly enjoyed seeing everyone at the Fall VACTE Conference! We had many great conversations around critical topics, such as high-quality instruction materials, robust clinical experiences, and program accreditation.

We especially want to thank our presenters for sharing their expertise and insights. Many of them have posted their materials to the conference website, so we encourage you to check them out.

Thank you all for your ongoing dedication to educator preparation in Virginia. We look forward to continuing this important work together.

Award Nomination Deadline: November 1

VACTE is proud to recognize outstanding students, educators, and partners whose contributions exemplify excellence in educator preparation and student success across Virginia. These awards celebrate the innovation, commitment, and impact demonstrated throughout our member institutions.

Journal Submission Deadline: December 1

The Teacher Educators’ Journal is accepting manuscripts for its next edition. To facilitate collaboration amongst teacher education scholars and practitioners and improve teaching, research, and student learning, the theme for the Spring 2027 journal is “Teacher Retention: The Impact of Policy and Practice." This will be a special edition focused on the work of the VACTE inquiry initiative group but will consider manuscripts from authors outside of the working group.

All manuscripts must be received by December 1, 2026, for consideration for the Spring 2027 issue. This is an extension of the November 1 deadline listed in the call for manuscripts.
